What happens when employees don’t feel safe enough to ask for help or admit when something has gone wrong?

According to research from Mental Health First Aid England, nearly half (45%) of employees do not feel comfortable raising issues at work, while over a third (35%) claimed they did not feel safe asking for help. Worryingly, 15% of workers admit to making preventable mistakes because they felt stressed, unsafe or unable to raise concerns.

So how can organisations create cultures where people can feel confident enough to question decisions, admit mistakes, challenge constructively and raise concerns without fear of embarrassment?

Join Advita Patel, Founder of CommsRebel and Eva Armit, Manager, Customer Engagement at Oak for a practical conversation exploring how to create a more inclusive, psychologically safe workplace where employees feel that their voice matters.

We’ll cover:

  • What psychological safety really means
  • Why employees stay silent even when organisations encourage them to speak up
  • How leaders can make it safer to challenge, ask questions and admit mistakes
  • Why closing the feedback loop is critical to building trust
  • The role technology can play in supporting employee voice
  • Practical steps you can take to start building a stronger speak-up culture
