Wing Yip is widely recognised as the UK’s leading Oriental grocer, sourcing and supplying authentic ingredients to the UK’s Chinese and Asian restaurants, discerning chefs and food enthusiasts.

The challenge

When they came to Oak, it was clear there was an issue with internal communications. This became the key driving force to set up a successful digital network that could be accessed by all employees of the company.

Why Oak?

Although having an intranet previously, it was only available to desk-based workers which accounted to less than 25% of the workforce. As well as not being widely available, the intranet was outdated giving people less of an incentive to use it. There was a clear divide between the desk and deskless based workers, which meant they needed a tool which would be accessible to all colleagues and therefore improving the overall internal communications of the company.

Initially, Wing Yip had shortlisted three different software providers, but the intuitive, easy to use and constantly evolving software of Oak bowled them over. It was an easy decision to make when it came to it.
