Burger King awarded ‘Best Intranet’ for its Oak Engage-powered BK Hub

Burger King UK was crowned ‘Best Intranet’ for its Oak Engage-powered BK Hub at this year’s prestigious Institute of Internal Communication awards on September 18th - the fifth award win in just eight months for Oak’s frontline-focused employee engagement platform. 

IoIC judges praised the platform, calling it “a highly compelling example of a strategically transformative intranet, built with a deep understanding of its employee demographic and communication needs. The core business objective - reducing employee turnover and improving onboarding - was well-defined and strongly aligned with the final product. Overall, this submission stood out for its clarity of purpose, innovation and tangible impact on the business.” 

Oak’s BK Hub connects Burger King UK’s 98% frontline employees, with Head Office teams and connects the entire workforce with its goals, strategy and processes. With the majority of frontline teams both deskless and device-less, the mobile-first app was a critical part of Oak Engage receiving recognition from the IoIC for “transforming Burger King’s employee experience”.
