Clifford Thames makes a PITSTOP to revolutionise Employee Communications & Engagement
Clifford Thames, the leading provider of the technology used to repair and maintain vehicles, has launched a new collaborative intranet platform to reflect the innovative nature of the business and to support an enhanced cohesive culture across its employee base.
Branded as PITSTOP and available to over 450 employees across the Group, the cloud-based Oak intranet solution, has been configured to radically improve communications and facilitate smoother standardised practices in line with ISO certifications.
CTO at Clifford Thames, Scott Christie, who was the driving force behind the project, commented that “Our objectives for the new Intranet were to assist with a culture of staff “belonging” and for it to become an essential part of their business life at Clifford Thames.”
By introducing Oak into the organisation, Clifford Thames are already improving the business in 3 strategic areas namely:
Corporate communications: a platform to disseminate news and announcements
Knowledge management: a way to capture, organize and diffuse knowledge
Application gateway: a single point of access to systems and apps
In the future, they plan to use the intranet for team collaboration and process management.
PITSTOP was piloted in November 2016 and then had a phased rollout which has been extremely successful and is now available to homeworkers, those based on customer sites and also office based staff.
US based Operations Manager, Lea Kingsley comments, “Since launch, engagement has been great, we have a number of really enthusiastic employees who have been posting regularly to blogs and creating rich content for users. The beauty of Oak is that it is so easy to use and together with the relevance of the content it makes for a fantastic user experience.”
Marketing Lead, Emma Knewstub added “We have learnt a lot during the setup and build of our intranet, fundamentally it’s incredibly important to ensure we keep content fresh and relevant and bring the pages to life with engaging graphics and animation”.
Marketing Director at Oak, David Pinches, is delighted to see Clifford Thames deriving real benefit from their new Intranet platform. “Oak’s unique combination of powerful and configurable intranet capabilities, delivered through an intuitive user interface has ticked all the boxes at Clifford Thames. It’s really gratifying to see how their well-planned roll out has been so well received.”
