What’s really happening in the world of intranets?
Orchid Software’s new Marketing people have been chatting with customers to find out more about Internal Comms and Driving Employee Engagement.
The main purpose for doing this is to gain more insight into how companies are using their intranets and also generate useful content for our customers that reflects what is going on right now!

Keeping content up to date is important and this is seen as the responsibility of area ambassadors. Updates should also be exposed on the intranet home page – Explore Learning
Strong intranet communities contribute to work culture. Up to 60 online communities have been set up for groups, including film clubs, guitar clubs, ‘employee praise’ pages and even a clock club! – Utility Warehouse
Twitter-like internal hashtags are encouraged to facilitate social sharing – Comic Relief
The intranet is used as the ‘place’ for popular all-inclusive events and activities, such as fundraising projects – Miller Homes
